Legends For Charity is an initiative that has come about after a group of YouTube channel owners came together to look to raise money for non-for-profit, local, small, animal shelters and animal rescue organisations by holding community based camp out events. In 2022, at the groups first camp out event, over 200 people travelled from all around the country for a 3 day camping event, all with the common goal to raise funds for the local animal shelter, Hervey Bay Animal Rescue. The result was not only a fantastic event where like-minded individuals and families came together for a fun weekend, but we also managed to raise more than $12, 000 over the 3 days.
In 2024, we are looking to hold our next fundraising event. This time, at Goomburra Valley Campground, in the beautiful Southern Downs region of South East Queensland.The 2024 event will be raising money for two fantastic charities... RACQ LifeFlight Rescue, and Southern Downs ARK. Our fundraising goal this time around? $15 000
Southern Downs ARK is a small animal rescue charity dedicated to saving and improving the lives of unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats on the Southern Downs and beyond. This incredible, non-profit charity relies on donations, grants and fundraising drives. ARK is operated by volunteers who freely give their time and personal resources to support their work. Southern Downs ARK has no paid staff.
RACQ LifeFlight Rescue is most likely well known to you already. The campground for the 2024 event, Goomburra Valley Campground, together with the Allora Butcher, do fundraising meat tray raffles every weekend to support the LifeFlight Rescue Toowoomba Base. The campground itself is self funding the creation of a purpose built rescue helipad at their property, for the Rescue Helicopter to have somewhere to land when performing operations in the Goomburra Section of the Main Range National Park and surrounds. The Legends for Charity organisers, have decided to also support this fantastic organisation at the 2024 event.
About us / Your Return
The Legends For Charity are made up of 4 Up-and-Coming You Tubers: The Wanderer AUS, Australian Camping & Four Wheel Drives, S.A.W Adventures and Phil's Camping Reviews, in conjunction with 'Terry G'. All five of us have come together off the back of the success of the 2022 event, to put together the 2024 instalment.
A key element to the success of the event and the fantastic amounts of monies raised, is the generous donations and sponsorships from companies and organisations. As mentioned, last year, we raised over $12 000 dollars, and at next years event, we hope to surpass that figure. We would love for you to come aboard to help us reach that goal!
In return for your valued donation or sponsorship of the event, ALL sponsors/donors will have their website/social media links and logo added to the event website.
We are accepting Cash Donations as well as in-kind donations of goods or services for our charity raffle. The raffle is one of the highlights of the event, and prize donations are welcomed.
Donations and offerings for Raffle Prizes for the event are included in the Sponsorship Packages and will reflect the monetary value of the item.
